Cabbagetown neighborhood homes for sale

Cabbagetown is one of the funkiest, most eclectic neighborhoods in Atlanta…and possibly in the world. Here you’ll find artists, lawyers, farmers, musicians and local politicians living together in harmony in this little pocket of hip. You have the Stacks which is the old cotton mill turned immense loft building with major character; Carroll Street is home to most of the restaurants like Agave, Carroll Street Cafe and bars like Milltown Arms. 97 Estoria is the hipster haunt with great pub fare and a smoky scene for all kinds of locals. Most homes are sporting some kind of Yart and you’ll see characters of all shapes and sizes wandering the streets, giving Cabbagetown the unique vibe that no other neighborhood I know of has. It is just next door to Reynoldstown and the Krog tunnel leads you north to Inman Park and the old 4th Ward and all the wonderful restaurants and bars that are cropping up along the Atlanta Beltline area. You’ll find a lot of the shotgun style homes here…some old and in need of some love…some renovated to the nines with all kinds of funky bells and whistles. Chomp & Stomp is the chilli bluegrass festival thatso many look forward to eeach year with a 5k in the morning and chili tents and localvendors set up along the streets throughout the entire neighborhood for a day of, well…whatever happens happens.   All Active Cabbagetown Real Estate...

My 5 Favorite things about Cabbagetown

Cabbagetown is a small funky neighborhood located on the east side of town. It was built as a mill town around the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill which opened in 1881. You will find lots of shotgun houses and small cottages and new construction infill in the neighborhood. This is a close-knit community with a rich history stemming from the Appalachian Mountain folk who worked in the Cotton Mill. My favorite things about Cabbagetown: Chomp and Stomp – Cabbagetown’s annual bluegrass festival and chili cookoff takes place early in November every year. The festival kicks off with a 5k race called the Romp and Stomp. The neighbors really turn out to show their support lining the streets with coffee (and often beers) in hand to cheer on the runners and welcome them to the neighborhood. Some folks even show up with their guitars. This is one of my favorite 5ks of the year and my absolute favorite t-shirt. Krog Street Tunnel – The Krog Street Tunnel connects Cabbagetown to neighboring Inman Park. It is also canvas to the best street art (or graffiti if you aren’t a fan) in the city. Check it out here: http://thedailykrog.tumblr.com/ Carrol Street – Carrol Street Cafe, Village Pizza, Milltown Arms Tavern and Little’s Food Store. I can’t think of a negative thing to say about any of these places. Go there now. Eat good food. Meet cool people. Cabbagetown Park – Smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood is this lovely 3.5 acre greenspace with an awesome playground, plenty of seating, cool sculptures and a gorgeous oak tree…wooden swing and all.
